*During the low season, visitor numbers can be quiet—so if there’s no one waiting to join a tour, our team may finish tours early to complete essential aquarium cleaning and maintenance.*

Our guided aquarium tours run from roughly 9:15am through to 3:00pm, with each tour lasting 45 to 60 minutes. Every tour is led by a marine biologist or passionate ocean enthusiast, and is designed to be engaging, informative, and easy to follow—whether you’re visiting with kids, travelling as a couple, or exploring Shark Bay solo.

During the tour, we take you through each and every tank, sharing stories and facts about the animals you’re seeing and how they relate to the marine environment of Shark Bay. While a small number of our animals are rescued, the vast majority are here for educational purposes, helping guests better understand local marine life and why this region is so special.

Tours don’t have strict start times. Most days, we run them as a continuous loop, so no matter when you arrive, if there’s space available we’ll get you straight onto a tour. You’ll simply finish wherever you started, making it a smooth, flexible experience without needing to plan your day around a timetable.
During busy periods this system may change slightly, but our maximum wait time is usually around 20 minutes.

why we do what we do

Education. No matter what tour you go on with us, whether its to mainland Australia’s Western Most Point, into the Francois Peron National Park or a guided tour around Ocean Park Aquarium, our main objective is to teach you about our incredible World Heritage Area.

With our team of marine biologists, PADI dive professionals and ocean & nature enthusiasts, we can almost guarantee you’ll walk away from us knowing something you didn’t that morning. And with over 22,000sq Km of World Heritage Area to discuss, there’s plenty for us to tell you!

About Us

Ocean Park was first established in the early 2000’s as a pink snapper rehabilitation centre. Over the years our goals shifted and we developed into an ecotourism venture.

We welcome aproximetly 48,000 guests every years through our doors, and our main objective with every single one is to educate and inspire them with information about the wildlife of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area

SHARK BAY ECO TOURS

Shark Bay Eco Tours provides you with a way to explore the furthest corners of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area.

Embark on our boat tours, visit Steep Point, Dirk Hartog Island and spot the abundance of wildlife that calls the waters of Shark Bay home.

Or take a ride in our state of the art 4x4s and venture into Francois Peron National Park, to Steep Point or even Dirk Hartog Island!

THE CLEAN UP STEEP POINT PROJECT

Beneath Steep Point’s famous fishing ledges lies a hidden problem—tangled fishing line, lures, lead sinkers, plastic and more. Our Shark Bay Eco Tours dive team (with local partners) is getting underwater to clean it up and protect this pristine ecosystem. Learn more or support the project.
